Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov won Nobel Prize for their fight against freedom of Expression.

Nobel Prize Distribution Committee has awarded Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov for safeguarding the principle of Freedom of Expression. Nobel Prize Committee thought freedom of expression is undermined nowadays.

Maria Ressa is an Journalist from Philippines while Dmitry Muratov is from Russia.

"They has been awarded for Their courageous fight in their respected country", Berit Reiss-Andersen, the Chairperson of Nobel Committee. He further added "Free, Independent and Fact-based journalism serves to protect against propoganda of war and abuse of power and lies."
